When I heard on the radio that it’s #WorldKindessDay I knew my class had to do something! We discussed what it means to be kind, and they took the kind oath and put their handprint on our kindness poster. Such a great day!

One of my first graders lost his mom 2 years ago as did I. On Wednesday he gave me a handwritten card saying both of our moms are angels together. Through tears, I tell him I’m having trouble reading it. He says to me, “Just sound it out.” 💕

We talk a lot about students being engaged. It occurs to me that one of the hallmarks of a great classroom is the TEACHER being engaged. Kids love it when their teacher is active, involved, and energized. And they can tell which ones are really “into it” and which ones aren’t.
