@jeff_gluck It’s been what I expected with traffic and I may have gotten lucky on food. Little Caesars has been the go-to - they have people carrying backpacks with pizza so avoided the main stand.Tram debacle caused me to skip kids garage tour today…can see that in Vegas at Neon Garage.

@jeff_gluck Watching the line in the red zone walking past me as I sit in my car and based on my non-scientific study of the number fans wearing non-NASCAR or SD local sports’ team gear, easily 75% of the crowd going past me has a high likelihood of being first-timers.

@LVMotorSpeedway The camping is where it’s at. Watching the Thunderbirds practicing the day before the race, getting to the Fanzone for autographs, and hanging out at the Neon Garage. There’s no other track that puts it on for the fans than LVMS.

@jeff_gluck So it’s like when the underweight fighter fought like hell all week to come in right at the minimum weight but did not account for the unintended diarrhea that morning (whatever the 48 jettisoned when it launched off the turtles) that put them just under. Is that the explanation?

@bobpockrass If a target range of 3200 +/- 17 lbs gives a min. of 3183 lbs, if the 48 team chose to come in so close to that min. that they didn’t leave any room for unintended weight loss via parts accidentally flying off, pretty hard to justify an appeal. Need the actual weight from NASCAR.

Hendrick won’t appeal the Bowman disqualification. They said they didn’t give themselves enough of a margin to meet the postrace standards (no explanation on how the car lost the weight). Team statement:

Sorry @NASCARonNBC and @nbc I just can’t take Leigh Diffey calling the race! I don’t know if I am going to be able to watch this any more. Bring in the @MRNRadio announcers or something. DO BETTER FOR THIS SPORT. This doesn’t feel like #NASCAR.

@Laurata37297150 @UCSO @eaglemtncity On one hand, the Porsche was 36 years old. A lot has happened with car safety design since then. On the other hand it’s simple physics — a stock 2016 F-150 is at least 2 feet taller and weighs about 2500 lbs more than the Porsche.
