... an IB markscheme from an actual exam (SL Paper 1 May 2016) has "de bove nil superest formae" and "nisi candor in illa" as separate sense units. Is there any way to read "formae" with the previous words?

Doing some IB Paper 1 stuff and have a question on this line (Ov. Met. 1.743): "de bove nil superest formae nisi candor in illa." Every reading I've seen takes "formae" as part of the "nisi"-clause. However...

Ugh okay I really struggle with Eng -> Lat translation of conditionals and indefinite pronouns. How would you translate: "If you could buy any car, which would you buy?"

@MagisterConway @toutovlepo @jacquesderridad I feel like present is the closest tense to being gnomic, so that’s why I’d learn FLV. Really isn’t FLV the closest approximation to a future CTF anyway? The future can’t be CTF since the future is unknown, but FLV covers the things that would be CTF if they could be known.

@toutovlepo @jacquesderridad I struggle with this too, so I'm glad you asked. I'm confused about why FLV makes sense. Clearly the premise of the question is that they're not able to buy any car and have no realistic chance of ever being able to. Is that not, by definition, contrary to fact?

For years, I’ve played around with timed writes but this year I’ve gotten serious about it so that my students have more consistent practice with it. It’s amazing how quickly students improve in output if you give them regular opportunities.
