⛵️ NEW: The Global Sumud Flotilla says Palestinian-Spanish-Swedish activist Saif Abukeshek’s condition is deteriorating inside Israel’s Shikma detention facility after escalating his hunger strike into a dry hunger strike. A newly disclosed report from Swedish consular officials following a prison visit says Saif was subjected to threats, psychological abuse, violent transfers, prolonged blindfolding, and interrogations where Israeli officers allegedly told him he would “spend [his] life rotting in jail” and never see his family again. Officials also warned about his worsening health. Abukeshek was detained after Israeli forces seized a Gaza-bound flotilla in international waters near Greece, abducting and transferring him to Israel.

🚨New Testimonies Reveal Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya Stripped, Beaten, and Set Upon by Dogs in Israeli Detention Three recently released Palestinian prisoners have provided harrowing testimony about the condition of Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, who has been held in Israeli detention since his arrest on December 27, 2024. Released prisoner Ahmad Qaddas said he initially did not recognize Abu Safiya due to his physical deterioration. He described the doctor spending most of his time “sitting in a daze,” barely able to speak, while fellow prisoners could hear him screaming during beatings but were powerless to intervene — with those who tried to help facing tear gas raids. A second witness, Hamza Abu Omeira, said Abu Safiya suffered constant vomiting, could not keep food down, and was denied medical care. He described seven consecutive days during which prisoners were shackled by both hands and feet. He said Abu Safiya was also reportedly forced to repeat degrading phrases about himself under torture. A third released prisoner said he witnessed Abu Safiya being stripped, beaten after interrogation, and attacked by police dogs that “scratched him and knocked him to the ground.” All three witnesses warned he faces imminent death if not released immediately. ⭕️ Israeli double-tap strike on rescue team wounds 4 paramedics in Lebanon Israeli strikes hit multiple areas across southern Lebanon Thursday, including Toul in the Nabatieh district near Ragheb Harb Hospital, where an airstrike was followed by a drone attack on rescue teams responding to the scene. An ambulance belonging to the Islamic Health Committee was destroyed and four paramedics were wounded, with footage shared by journalist @MaucourantNada showing the aftermath. Additional strikes and shelling were reported across the Nabatieh governorate, including Doueir, Mifdoun, Haboush, Nabatieh al-Fouqa, Kfar Roumman, Deir al-Zahrani, and Kfour per journalist @cbonneauimages and local reports. Strikes also hit Yatar and Deir Kifa in the Sour district near Lebanon’s southern coast. A drone strike on a scooter between Breikeh and Qsaybeh, both located north of the Israeli border in southern Lebanon, seriously injured the rider per L’Orient Today.

🚨 Flotilla Detainees Report Sexual Violence, Physical Abuse at Hands of Israeli Forces The Global Sumud Flotilla released preliminary first-hand testimonies Thursday alleging a pattern of severe physical and sexual abuse against civilian participants following the Israeli military’s interception of the flotilla in international waters last week. According to the press release, at least four participants reported sexual violence at the hands of Israeli soldiers, including anal penetration with a finger, forceful strikes to the genitals, and verbal sexual abuse. Testimonies also describe deliberate deprivation of clothing, food, water, and bedding, as well as areas being flooded with water at night — leaving detainees in extreme physical distress. Multiple participants suffered hypothermia and hyperthermia, the flotilla said. 179 participants were released to Greek authorities. Two — Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Ávila — remain detained at Israel’s Shikma prison and are reportedly on hunger strike. Israel has not responded to the allegations.
