bangalore is an absolute shithole of a city. I’ve been trying to book a cab or an auto for the last 30 damn minutes—nothing. now these unions have decided to ban Uber and Ola too. first, they banned bike taxis, and now this? What kind of mafia nonsense is this? no infrastructure, no proper public transport, constant language barriers—it’s a joke. nonestly, the state should just declare an office shutdown so we can all pack up and move to a city that actually functions.

When I had my motorcyle fall - I ensured the first doctor who gave me first aid at the nearest Govt PHC, issued a MLC certificate, detailing injuries and that the accident happened on a public road, and I was alone - own damage only. This is important for insurance because many insurance companies are disallowing motorcyle accident claims under mediclaim if its in a rural area 'saying its motorsports', they instead tell you to use your vehicle's insurance which is a cumbersome process. Your vehicle's insurance will allow you to claim all medical expenses but claim settlement takes months or years, while mediclaim health insurance covers accidents and is cashless. I further had to give a self declaration at the hospital to the insurance company that there is no second vehicle that was involved in the accident. A second vehicle being involved in a accident will usually mean your health mediclaim policy rejects the accident claim as the claim can be paid by either of the two vehicle's policies. It's very messy. Recently in September some friends of mine went to Ladakh for a motorcycle ride in their own motorcycles from Bangalore. One rider crashed and broke his shoulder when his bike went off the road near Kargil while avoiding a rashly driven car. The attending Govt Doctor in Kargil wrote on his MLC that the patient was a tourist and had come on his motorcycle to Ladakh. The mediclaim health insurance company rejected surgery claim of about Rs. 4.5 Lakhs using 'motorsports' clause and told him to use the vehicle insurance policy. The rider has filed an appeal with insurance ombudsman. Meanwhile to claim using the vehicle insurance policy, an FIR is needed. That wasn't done even though it was a patrol vehicle from Kargil PS that handled the rescue. My friends thought FIR wasn't necessary. To file an FIR now, my friend has to either visit Kargil or hire a lawyer to get it done there - and then do a claim for his injuries through the motor vehicle policy.
