We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mick Hunt, former Head Groundsman at Lord's. Mick was a very popular character among MCC Members and staff, and his huge smile a permanent feature around the Ground for 49 years, having joined the Lord's groundstaff in 1969 and retiring in 2018. Few people can attest to being so indelibly connected to the history of Lord's. We offer our sincere condolences to his family.

@Karl_McDermott Wow top marks awarded for a pitch when the game is over in 3.5 days. 14 wkts fall on days 1 and 2 for 450 runs. Mostly scored behind the stumps. Thanks for the detailed renovations programme Karl. I suggest Middlesex play somewhere else so you can start the rebuild asap.

@madgeorge4 1. Hi George, good to hear from you again. Pitches are at the top of our agenda, but given the heavy schedule its now not that simple to just dig a pitch up. It takes 3 years before you could consider using it at international level. We have no spare pitches, most get used twice.

@Karl_McDermott Great test match but the pitch was poor. Lack of pace and bounce and no carry at all, especially the first 2 days. Ground looks great but the pitch yet again is not the best.
