Collaboration increases understanding of diverse perspectives, allows higher-level thinking and can achieve a common goal. Communication allows appropriate interaction, builds relationships, and gains understanding. What are your 21st Century Learning Skills? #SDG3 #uonteach
Jorja Poulton@PoultonJorja

For pre-service teachers focusing on #SDG3, what 21st Century Learning Skills are you thinking of using? I think I will look into communication and personal/social skills. I believe these are 2 very important skills to understand when discussing mental health and wellbeing! #Uon

@madigoddard9 I believe one's social-economic status in Australia has a large effect on one's access to food. Kitchen gardens implemented within these regions will aid in helping families have access to nutritious food.

@madigoddard9 This is a great example of a healthy eating activity addressing #SDG3. I have always thought activities like this are great for getting every student engaged in class and at home. I have uploaded a tweet with a similar challenge called 'Vege Adventure' Check it out! #UoNTeach

What a clever activity! Below is a creative activity for students to learn about #healthyfoods and #sustainability! Students are then able to take their knowledge home and implement it into their everyday life. Thanks for sharing Sophie! 🥦🥕 #SDG3 #uonteach #educ4750

@madigoddard9 This is fantastic resource to use in the classroom! The visual representation for children is great. They could compare each of the recommendations and note the differences? Great opportunity for inclusion of Aboriginal culture!

The Australian and Aboriginal guide to Healthy Eating. The Australian poster is a visual representation of the recommended consumptions each day of the five food groups. The Aboriginal version includes traditional Indigenous foods eg. Damper. Would you use this in your classroom?

@madigoddard9 I have a similar tweet about the importance of class gardens in developing student appreciation for vegetables. I can confirm the research is true from my own experience with growing vegetables, it makes eating them special by knowing your effort paid off. #SDG3

The Hexagonal Curriculum mapping is a very powerful process that I will be using in my project! Collaboratively designing and creating an idea with a major impact on students is a great visual tool to display my #SDG3 project! Would you check this out? app.education.nsw.gov.au/digital-learni…

@jessica_loudon Big picture ideas display opportunities and provide students with real-world learning. Using the #HexagonalPlan puts ideas into small chunks for students to visually understand it. Students need to relate to #SDG3 to build 21st Century skills to become better global citizens!

By incorporating the revised Bloom's Taxonomy into our daily pedagogy we are encouraging our students to use higher order thinking skills💡 more often! This resource aligns with the skills we need to be teaching in a 21st century learning environment #SD3 #UoNTeach #Educ4750 📝
Grace Cram@cram_ms

Bloom's Taxonomy, but digitalised! As educators in the 21st Century, we are always trying to appropriately and effectively include technology in the classroom. This is a great resource the combines 21st Century learning with Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. #uonteach #educ4750 #SDG3

A clear example of this is found through a School Kitchen Garden Program! Students are free to explore and direct their own learning, challenging their individual understandings through creative and critical thinking💡Thank you for sharing @madigoddard9🌟 #UoNTeach #Educ4750
Madison Goddard@madigoddard9

I will be including Dewy's theory of Project-Based Learning in my unit. PBL is a flexible, pedagogic framework that promotes deeper learning, greater engagement and higher quality work. #SDG3 #uonteach 🤔💭 What critical or inquiry-based strategy might you use in your project?🤷‍♀️

Breakfast club is a great initiative for schools to helps students start the day feeling energised and nourished! It would be amazing to see the community get involved in a volunteering role! #uonteach #educ4750 #SDG3
Molly O’Neill@_MissONeill_

1 in 5 Australian children go to school without eating breakfast at least once a week. Breakfast club is a great way to provide a nutritious meal to help jumpstart the day. Mental health, good nutrition and learning go hand in hand. #educ4750 #breakfastclub #uonteach

@KobeHar48482214 It is awesome to see the benefits students get out of this initiative. Looking into this further, could educators possibly involve students in volunteering to feed other groups of the community? This would strengthen their skills and make the students more independent! 🤔 #SDG3

@madigoddard9 Exactly right Madi. It's also a great way for non-Indigenous students to understand and be involved with Aboriginal culture. This can then open up a topic of discussion around Aboriginal culture and history- always an interesting topic. #uonteach #educ4750

YES Jorja! creating a comfortable space for Aboriginal students, allows them to open up and talk about their struggles in a safe environment. It is essential for these students to experience a yarning circle to enhance #wellbeing and connection to their culture. #uonteach #SDG3
Jorja Poulton@PoultonJorja

Would Yarning circles create a safe space for our Aboriginal students to talk about their #mentalhealth and #wellbeing? I think YES! I think its so important to bring culture into the classroom and create a safe space for all students #UonTeach #Educ4750
