Okay, so I am NOT trying to force people to use AI, but apparently a LOT of people are either confused or didn't research what they are protesting.
So here is a 40,000 foot view summary of exactly WHAT AI is.
What is AI?
At its core, Generative AI (GenAI) is fundamentally textual. These systems are large language models (LLMs) trained to understand and generate human-like text. They reason, write, code, summarize, and plan using language as their native medium.
Grok (built by xAI): Truth-seeking, technically strong, and helpful with a touch of humor.
ChatGPT (OpenAI): Versatile all-rounder, great for creative writing, conversations, and general tasks.
DeepSeek: Excels at technical work, math, and programming.
Gemini (Google): Strong multimodal capabilities and web-integrated knowledge.
Image and Video Generation are not core GenAI functions. They are secondary specialized models (usually diffusion models) that take text output from a GenAI model as input. In practice, the main LLM acts like a smart director that writes detailed instructions, which are then handed off to image or video models to create visuals. This is often coordinated by AI Agents — systems that can break down complex tasks, use tools, and chain multiple models together.
Prompting / PromptcraftThis is the art and skill of writing clear, detailed instructions (prompts) for the AI. Since GenAI is fundamentally a language-based system, the quality of your text prompt directly controls everything downstream — including any images, video, or actions that follow. Please note that GenAI is NOT needed for image generation.
A weak prompt gets weak results. A well-crafted prompt (sometimes reading like a short story or precise technical specification) unlocks dramatically better output. Promptcraft is the key user skill that turns a basic tool into a powerful creative partner. This is actually much like authoring a novel, that is to say unique to the person and taken differently each time it is read.
