You can't protect threatened species without protecting their habitats. That's where the research SIMS is doing into seagrass comes in, and the fantastic living seawalls which transform seawalls and other structures into more ecologically friendly structures.

Solastalgia. That sums up how I'm feeling right now. I just dived my favourite dive site in the world; the Pipeline in Nelson Bay for the first time following March floods. The site is devastated: all life has died above 8m. Seagrass, algae, sponges and corals are all gone. ☹️
