@madlylearning
I have the awesome job of getting to teach kids. I blog about it at Madly Learning. I am also a tech enthusiast, TPT seller, and always learning.

@mokos4_5 @SeaforthPublic @yourschools All.the.time!!! Now we’ve got to somehow make this a new call and response for something...cleanup...??

Thanks @madlylearning for the great YouTube links for Canadian Government! My kids are singing “Who does what?” @SeaforthPublic @yourschools It sure helps them remember what they’ve learned!
English

@maritstiles Thank you for standing with teachers as we stand up for our students.

I'm used to the cut and thrust of Question Period, but when the Minister said his priority was 'creating a safe learning environment for kids with special needs'... I couldn't let that fly.

@DerekRhodenizer 3/3 I share & ask for compensation for my time, & energy. Due to need I make resources for others as a registered business that uses the TPT platform to sell. Authors, speakers, and teachers who work for publishers are paid for their work. TPT fills a need due to poorly funded Ed

@DerekRhodenizer 2/3 I make materials that take me months to create. I conduct research, employ others to validate and edit materials and purchase licenses to commercial quality photos. For this I share with other teachers. Teachers who don’t have the time to create these themselves.
English

@DerekRhodenizer Being a teacher I am forced to create all of my own materials because funds have been cut. The materials I am provided by my employer are uninspired, out dated, or irrelevant. They don’t support universal design or inquiry based teaching. So I make these materials myself.

@mraspinall Competition sometimes causes burnout. Chasing the dream of a being ‘Pinterest’ or ‘Instagram’ teacher is impossible. As for sharing...collaboration has gone past the confines of my own school and through SM ideas and resources can be shared so others can avoid burnout.
English

@zbpipe Quite common. I have found that making a schedule/rules for when an IPad is used and when it is not is helpful. This makes it predictable. Having a few days of no IPad to reset (provide a less convienent option like a desktop for a few days) also housing the IPad away from desk.
English

@justintarte Except when the poor choices and behaviours of one student translate into physical assaults and continued harassment of others. We need to acknowledge that the help these students need is not being provided. Some students need more than what one teacher/school can provide.
English

Shoutout to the educators and #schools that approach poor student choices and poor behavior from the lens of 'how can I help you' and 'how can I understand what you're communicating' rather than going immediately to punishment.

It’s that time of year again...progress reports. Does anyone make notes to help them remember what exactly we are commenting on? I find this list helps me come up with comments and evaluations.

@Mrs_AppletonCMV @VandenBosPS That’s so awesome! Glad your students engaged.

We've started creating our science board! We have some wonders about light, and a few answers that students researched and added to our board. We also did an interactive science entry about light sources and how they help us and our environment. @madlylearning @VandenBosPS

@malloy_john Have reasonable but high expectations. Support and respect your staff. Be on their team and have a backbone to do what is best for your school before yourself. Lead by example. Motivate and inspire growth and risk taking. Judge less and support more. Then get out of the way.

I am preparing to meet with 1000 Principals and Vice-Principals on August 28. What is your advice for me regarding the key messages I should share that will motivate, challenge and inspire? We are excited to welcome our students on Sept. 3. #tdsb #tdsbdirector

Great podcast episode on the different types of inquiry. Have you or a colleague ever used a wonderwall in a math class to engage students? @madlylearning
