Pakistan rejects misleading comments regarding UAE financial deposits and affirms the strength of its partnership with the UAE. 🇵🇰🇦🇪 Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan 🇵🇰 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs firmly rejects the recent misleading and baseless comments regarding the financial deposits provided by the United Arab Emirates and held with the State Bank of Pakistan. These deposits were placed under bilateral commercial agreements, reflecting the UAE’s strong support for the stability and prosperity of Pakistan’s economy. Accordingly, and in line with the agreed terms between both sides, the Government of Pakistan is currently, through the State Bank of Pakistan, repaying the deposits that have matured to the UAE. This is a routine financial process, and any attempt to portray it otherwise is incorrect and misleading. Pakistan and the UAE share a long-standing fraternal relationship based on trust and strategic cooperation in trade, investment, and defense, as well as strong people-to-people ties. This relationship has stood the test of time and has grown stronger year after year. The people of Pakistan hold deep appreciation for the pivotal role played by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in strengthening this enduring friendship, as well as for his special affection toward Pakistan.
