We still remember how Express News highlighted the male doctor’s issue and portrayed it as harassment. But where is the mainstream media now? Where are Hamid Mir, Mansoor Ali Khan, Talat Hussain, Waseem Badami, and Iqrar-ul-Hassan? Why is there no prime time discussion on this heartbreaking incident? Where are the human rights organizations now? Why this silence when a doctor’s life has been destroyed?

This is Dr. Mahnoor’s original picture. These cruel people did not feel even a moment of humanity or remorse. She was someone’s daughter, someone’s sister, and surely a source of pride for her family. A beautiful face and an innocent life have been scarred forever because of this brutality. May such people face the consequences of the destruction they bring upon others.

Maryam has totally failed on health front in Punjab. All doctors see her as enemy and I don’t blame doctors for it. Maryam has not even tried to listen to issue of doctors. They are paid less & now there’s a culture of public servants & general public insulting them on camera

Dr. Mah Noor Nasir, a female doctor at Sandeman Civil Hospital, Quetta, Balochistan, was critically injured in an acid attack while on duty. The accused, Humayun Shah, was killed by police after he opened fire on officers and refused to surrender. #Quetta #AcidAttack

Balochistan government deserve appreciation, not only the culprit was killed but also expenses of lady doctor will be paid by government.

I strongly believe that, like previous incidents, this lady doctor will also not receive the attention of our welfare organizations and journalists. It seems that female doctors are not even considered “women” by them; otherwise, they would speak up about the attacks on lady doctors and highlight these issues as well.
It is also disappointing that some women’s organizations remain very vocal when an actress or a public figure is attacked or harassed, yet stay silent when female doctors face harassment, violence, or even lose their lives while serving in hospitals.

بہت ہی افسوسناک اور دل دہلا دینے والا واقعہ ہے۔ کوئٹہ سول ہسپتال کی لیڈی ڈاکٹر ماہ نور ناصر پر ایک نامعلوم شخص نے تیزاب پھینک دیا، جس کے نتیجے میں ان کا جسم تقریباً 70 فیصد جھلس گیا۔ وہ اس وقت آریا ہسپتال میں زیرِ علاج ہیں۔ یہ واقعہ صرف ایک فرد پر حملہ نہیں بلکہ ہمارے پورے نظامِ صحت، ہمارے معاشرتی رویوں اور ہمارے اجتماعی ضمیر پر ایک سنگین سوال ہے۔ ہم ڈاکٹرز ہر روز دوسروں کی زندگیاں بچانے کے لیے اپنی جان جوکھوں میں ڈالتے ہیں، لیکن جب زندگی بچانے والے خود غیر محفوظ ہو جائیں تو یہ پورے معاشرے کے لیے لمحۂ فکریہ ہے۔ یہ واقعہ ہمیں یاد دلاتا ہے کہ صحت کے شعبے سے وابستہ افراد کا تحفظ محض ایک انتظامی ضرورت نہیں بلکہ ایک اخلاقی اور قانونی ذمہ داری ہے، اور ایسے انسانیت سوز واقعات کے خلاف فوری، سخت اور مؤثر کارروائی ناگزیر ہے۔ ہم مطالبہ کرتے ہیں کہ اس واقعے میں ملوث افراد کے خلاف فوری اور سخت قانونی کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے اور لیڈی ڈاکٹر کو بہترین اور مکمل طبی سہولیات فراہم کی جائیں.
