It wasn't a door volunteer but commands from the stage by microphone. I wasn't the only person that decided to leave despite open seats. I understand the fire code but that wasn't stated. This is the first attending PyCon I felt unwelcome (7th year).

@pycon what's with the room proctor in Ballroom B for the 1210p session angerily commanding attendees as they entered? I left the session because I needed to stand for a while but was told you couldn't stay unless seated.#CantSitAllDay
