@FunLilCharacter I find it funny how this is now the de facto Fred helmet considering I'm pretty sure both Solomon and Arthur use the exact same models in their Halo Legends depiction where the helmet first appears.

@TackelsHolocron @NakaiCanon It would be one thing if they were sold individually but the fact that it's a bundle-only deal means that you don't have a say in the matter of how much you're willing to spend if you want anything from it.
English

Okay, that’s just WAAAAAY too much!
Like... wtf?!

I don't typically comment on store prices, but this is genuine greed.

@IanCassidy36294 @fagwife05 There’s a very high probability they end up killing each other regardless, but in the event they both survive I don’t think Quaritch has to be forgiven or have him team up with Jake for his story to continue. I do think he’ll become an enemy to the RDA eventually.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 In a matter of speaking we aren’t the same person moment to moment anyways. Experiences can change us. Jake was a very different person at the start of A1 than he was at the end. His rebirth was just a physical transformation to match his internal one.
English

@maggruber @fagwife05 Well, that's true. But we don't really know what makes us who we are. But I think we're dealing with the same Quaritch here as in A1. That's the only thing that really makes sense in the end.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 I would go as far as to say that Jake’s rebirth as full Na’vi also represented a “death” of his human self, but he had already spent a substantial amount of time living as one anyways, and I think Eywa’s ritual would’ve been more effective at preserving who he was.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 There’s actually newer consensus on this issue. While the brain encompasses over 90% of what makes us, us, you can’t underestimate the importance of the rest of the nervous system, endocrine system, or even the body’s gut microbiome to influence behavior.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 This is a valid interpretation that isn’t mutually exclusive with the idea that the Recoms aren’t 1:1 perfect copies of their originals. But I understand why you’re resistant to accept that on a thematic level.
To me, Recom Quaritch behaved noticeably differently than in A1.
English

@maggruber @fagwife05 at least in the interpretation of many religions)
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 Part of the reason people shouldn’t “play God” is because they overestimate their capabilities and understanding of nature and thus make mistakes. There’s an overemphasis on the idea of planting memories inside of a body to fully encompass an expression of the self.
English

@maggruber @fagwife05 No, it is about the aspect of the divine and the pure from a spiritual point of view. Unholy does not mean that it is faulty. It means that it was not what God wanted. People play God because they can, but the question is whether they should do it.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 That’s fair, but I also think Quaritch was somewhat irrational in that respect, like he never wanted to come to terms with the fact he’d eventually be too old to be an effective fighter. There’s a lot of SOF guys like that today that think they’re the deadliest men on the planet.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 Your point about the spiritual aspect of it is valid, but the fact that the method in question is noted as “unholy” (flawed) makes me think it’s not intended to be a perfect clone of the original.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 Well, to be blunt, the methods by which Jake was reborn is more likely to produce an exact recreation of the same person rather than an extremely close simulacrum of the original that the recoms would be using the memory scan method. People are more than just their memories.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 The look on his face to me conveys a sense of resentment. Quaritch is a warrior at heart who idolizes martial prowess and getting the job done. His human self was a failure in his eyes. He is now superior and able to do what his original could not.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 There isn’t a definitive answer on this obviously, and I’m not arguing that Recomb Quaritch doesn’t agree with anything that the original thought or did.
To me, I believe that was a rejection of his former weakness, and a commitment to doing what his predecessor couldn’t.
English

@IanCassidy36294 @fagwife05 I think “redemption” is the wrong word.
Quaritch doesn’t need to be redeemed, he just needs to accept that his original plans/goals weren’t worth it and adapt. Not every rehabilitated villain needs to 180 from their original view point or even feel sorry.
English

@BeelzeBelvedere @fagwife05 I mean the first clue that he isn’t is the fact that he views his “father” with nothing but contempt. This isn’t something most people would do in the same position if they were truly the same person.
GIF
English

@fagwife05 Is he really a different person than in A1? I doubt it. You can actually see very clearly that it is the same person.
English

@theblue75olds @Yoshix1996 @madis259 It’s a problem in the sense that a lack of identity means that this looks bland/generic and thus less deserving of attention than something that has more distinct iconography. It needs to be something marketable as “Halo” or at least belongs to defined factions.
English

@theblue75olds @Yoshix1996 @madis259 But that’s kind of the problem, you don’t really get any clues as to which faction they belong to from their design if the first thing you think is US LEOs. That goes for the goons in the background as well as the beret wearing soldiers in the other half of the painting.

English

@maggruber @Yoshix1996 @madis259 Idk I like the look of the dude dressed up like a space swat officer from the 90’s

English

@hansvanharken @NotOrionLMAO The bug is that you can't actually play the game like this, its stuck to being a showroom thing.

@NotOrionLMAO Glitches tend to mean: they aren’t supposed to happen…
This was SUPPOSED to happen
