You may know that 30% of the time it causes other damage but unless he tears it down you can't know for sure.

Wait wait. Either it needed the parts or it didn’t. Covering your ass with a high quote? Talking out both sides of his mouth. 140 flat rate hours in 6 days, 45 hour work week. How much padding were you doing by up sales on repairs and parts that weren’t needed. Two sides to every story & his half sucks.

Top BMW tech fired after just 3 months for ‘overquoting’ a repair? This guy was working 6 days a week and pulling 140 billable hours per pay period. Customer brings in a hybrid making noise on deceleration. He finds a completely blown differential and quotes the replacement plus rear axles as a precaution — standard practice to protect the shop and customer from future issues and liability. Warranty covered the diff but not the $5k axles. Foreman handled the upset customer, repair was done, no immediate problems. Weeks later the customer complains the axles weren’t replaced… and the tech gets fired for overquoting. He says another technician was fired for the exact opposite — not quoting enough when a car came back broken. There are always two sides to every story, but if this is accurate, this hard-working mechanic is getting a raw deal.

@DGatheringstre1 @HistorianUSA1 Its called book time. Industry uses several recognizes labor time guides for a specific repair. If the recognized time for a repair is 3hrs & a good tech can do it in 2.2hrs he still gets 3hrs. If it takes him 3.5hrs, he still gets 3hrs. No one is getting screwed. Some are faster

@HistorianUSA1 Its not over quote or CYA. Basically you are explaining the difference between a symptom of the problem & the actual problem. The differential may or may not have damaged the axles. driving with a blown coolant hose may have damaged the engine. You don't have a Crystal Ball

I’m a Penn State fan. So I’ve watched Drew Allar VERY closely. All the talent in the world. Can make every throw. Can scramble. Just so inconsistent. Goes small in the biggest moments. But never really had elite WR’s. Maybe McCarthy can fix him? Regardless, Steelers throw a dart.
