@Robbie_M1080 @GunnerTas Did you say this when John Howard and Tony Abbott broke promises? Both struggled to justify them. Howard said there were core and non core promises! Democracy seems to have survived just fine. Let’s not hyperventilate.

@ChloeCharlie180 @plebcapital You are kidding? People have been making huge capital gains from a property boom which has locked out first home buyers. The poor hard done by property investor is a cute take. You may have got away with this 30 yrs ago but not in this market!

Calling people “degenerates” because they don’t want the government taking an even bigger slice of their investments is exactly why normal Australians are fed up with this smug attitude. To make a capital gain you usually spend years taking risks, paying interest, maintenance, insurance, rates, land tax and tax on the income that bought the asset in the first place. Then inflation pushes values up and suddenly people like you act like Canberra is entitled to another giant cut just because someone finally sells. Australians aren’t complaining about paying fair tax. They’re sick of governments treating every bit of hard-earned success like a revenue source to raid.

Don’t know why all you degenerates are complaining so much about the CGT changes… you seem to be forgetting that in order to pay CGT, you actually have to make a capital gain in the first place.

@King0243_PJC @ItsBouquet He’s also a hostage of the constitution. If Britain got rid of the monarchy, you would have to rethink the whole system of government. The jewels also are owned by the ‘Crown’ not the King personally.

James O’Brien couldn’t have articulated it any better 👏👏👏 The King lecturing Britain on housing crises and poverty… while dripping in billions of jewels? “You could house 100 homeless people by flogging that jewellery down the pawnbrokers.” Cognitive dissonance doesn’t get more glaring than this. Spot on. 🔥👇👇👇

@spdycs @JackHellstorm @ausstockchick There is a suite of initiatives being introduced including lifting supply. Neg G/CGT will be grandfathered so this change won’t impact current housing stock in the short term. To suggest investors are doing the less well off a favor is disingenuous.

Tonight might just go down in history as the day Australia as we knew it ended. Getting ahead in Australia is about to become twice as hard. Taking risks, investing, building wealth, the things that used to be encouraged are starting to look like they with come with a penalty. All to keep the gravy train going while disguised as helping young people. Disgraceful. #ausbiz #auspol

Interesting that listeners on @abcmelbourne not buying @Raf_Epstein ‘s nonsense and sick of hearing “broken promises” on repeat. A pilot called to say he would be remiss if he didn’t change the flight path if there was a safer better way. Enough of your Labor bashing @abcnews

@ausstockchick The retards celebrating this because it hits "rich" people don't understand lower incomes are more affected by the min 30% CGT than higher income bracket people. No negative gearing means people won't invest. Which means less rental vacancy

@CalltoActivism He’s not ‘in’ Iran. He’s never going to be ‘in’ Iran. He’s in a stand off that has no resolution while he’s president. The gap between what Iran demands and US wants is too great. Only regime change in the US will end this.

A New Phase of SARS-CoV-2 Evolution? The evolution of SARS-CoV-2 has followed a familiar pattern: new variants emerged, spread rapidly across the globe, and replaced their predecessors - triggering successive waves of infection. This pattern may now be changing - see our manuscript below. Here is the evidence - and what it suggests. BA.3.2 is different Instead of being replaced, variants that were dominant in the second half of 2025 continue to circulate. At the same time, a new saltation variant - BA.3.2 (“Cicada”) - is spreading globally but more slowly and unevenly across regions. 👉 It can spread alongside other variants 👉 It dominates in some regions, but not others 👉 Its global spread is gradual, not explosive BA.3.2 preferentially targets children BA.3.2, unlike other variants, preferentially targets children and its spread can be associated with rising case numbers among children. What does this mean? One might speculate that: ➡️No single variant may dominate worldwide in the future. ➡️The time of pandemic waves of infection may come to an end. Instead, COVID-19 may become a more regionally variable, endemic disease. Which questions remain open? Why does BA.3.2 preferentially target children? The particular antibody profile in this age group is my best guess, but other possibilities exist and have been discussed on this platform. Is BA.3.2 more pathogenic in children than other variants? Does the deletion of accessory ORFs in BA.3.2 result in preferential infection of the upper respiratory tract, where the interferon system is likely less potent relative to the lower respiratory tract? Do we need a bi- or even multivalent vaccine for the next COVID-19 season, covering BA.3.2 and other variants? Will BA.3.2 acquire mutations that increase transmissibility? @krassenstein There’s a fourth option. Trump thinks everyone else is so stupid they will believe the image depicted him as a doctor if he says so. And given he gets away with this schtick time after time, it’s not unreasonable for him to.

Was a “more diverse jury” the reason why they waited to arrest Ben Roberts-Smith in Sydney? The decision to arrest him at Sydney Airport is highly unusual. His lawyers have said that police knew he was willing to surrender, yet they seemingly ignored that and chose a public arrest instead. That is not the behaviour of a system acting in good faith, especially now that a source trusted by those who first broke news of BRS claiming it was to eventually get him in front of a more ‘diverse’ jury. Are people in Sydney more likely to convict due to their politics, religion or ancestry? It doesn’t take much to work out the differences between NSW and QLD in those categories and why it would be advantageous to those pursuing the case to have it held in NSW over QLD...

“The teeming hordes of people who come here for welfare.” I wouldn't call it racist as much as I'd call it a lie. @corybernardi is a liar. The 'hordes' he’s talking about are not entitled to welfare. Cory is welcome to prove me wrong, but he won’t - because he can’t.
