David “Dave” A Perks @perkiedp is a retired Toronto resident working as a full time protestor where he has been seen for the last year & a half every Sunday harassing the Jewish neighborhood of Bathurst & Sheppard. A self-admitted gay man, David Perks enjoys taking photographs of underage Jewish male adolescents & teenagers where he posts them as “Jewish Zionists” to his very originally named “anticanarymissioncanada” Instagram page, a strong rebuttal to the @canarymission. He event admits in the posts that they are adolescents & teenagers. Rather than arrest David Perks this is all actually done under approval & armed protection of @TorontoPolice @TPSoperations who enable him taking photographs of underage adolescents & threaten arrest for anyone who gets near him. In addition to harassing Jews, David Perks can be seen putting up signs of swastikas on Toronto street corners, referring to Jews as “scum of the Earth”, and making fun of Holocaust victims with the caption “no food, house, no country.” David Perks “hope(s) Israel burns down” and listens to the song “Boom Boom Tel Aviv”, which has been played at his Sunday targeted harassment protests. He believes all Jews in Israel only come from Europe and uses swastikas to compare Israelis to Nazis. Thankfully David Perks labels his equipment at protests including his flag poles & cell phone case just in cases anything gets lost and if so we strongly urge residents to return his equipment back to him. This is a Notice of Public Interest to Jewish parents in Toronto regarding this creepy senior taking pictures of their children & posting it to his social media page. Further, to the Jewish community of Bathurst & Sheppard, David Perks is one of the key organizers who come to your area to harass you for who you are. Yesterday, I visited the Toronto Islamic Centre for Iftar — which has faced Islamophobic threats against their place of prayer. It’s essential that all Canadians feel safe in their religious spaces and community centres, and as a Jewish woman I stand with them in the fight against Islamophobia and hate.
I don't believe Carney is an antisemite. You don't live/work where he did and get away with that. But he knows that progressive politics - which includes much of his Liberal Party - has now fully succumbed to antisemitism. So he nods to it. That's worse, to me. It's antisemitism that's motivated by cynicism, not belief.
As a result, my respect for him is zero and my respect for his Jewish MPs who have been incredibly silent is even less.
