Wednesday's horse racing thread 🧵
York 2.20 Klassleader 9/4 (took 7/2)
Yarmouth 2.40 Kinswoman 6/4 NEXT BEST
York 2.55 Binhareer 4/1
York 4.05 Felicitas 11/4
Yarmouth 5.03 Staniel Cay 2/1
York 5.15 Master Builder 7/2
Bath 6.12 Darzah 5/6 NAP
I tweeted about KLASSLEADER yesterday when he was 7/2 and he has been backed accordingly. This colt must have a great chance as the drop back to a mile and a half looks ideal and he has the size and scope to improve again as a 4yo. The yard are in great form now and I make him the one to beat.
As you can tell I'm hoping Haggas has a big day as he has good horses running at every track today. KINSWOMAN is another one as she was hugely progressive towards the end of last season and can continue her progress here on return. She has loved dropping back to the minimum trip and isn't done improving yet.
Another Haggas runner BINHAREER must have a great shout here. He was impressive over C&D on final outing and despite the rise in weights (fully warranted) can make a winning return here under Tom Marquand. His form has been well advertised and he clearly has lots going for him.
I know Legacy Link is all the rage in the betting but I was at Sandown and was with FELICITAS when she won. She was a brutal drifter that day but went through the race like a good thing and ran out an impressive victor. She is 2-2 and her ceiling has by no means been reached yet so if she progresses again she looks a big danger to the favourite and I'm confident of a decent showing here.
There was plenty to like about that win from STANIEL CAY at Nottingham. He has more to offer over 5f and if improving again here could defy the 7lb rise in the weights. David Egan takes over and this looks another good opportunity on paper.
I put MASTER BUILDER up at 8/1 for talkSPORT and he has been one of the gambles of the day now into 7/2 and clear favourite. He is a horse that has always promised so much without quite delivering. He is still just a 5yo though and given a helping hand by the handicapper could bounce back in a big way here under Rossa Ryan.
Dubawi filly DARZAH showed plenty on debut despite finishing nearer last than first. I just think inexperience got the better of her when asked to get involved but she did catch the eye somewhat in defeat. The form is decent as the winner So Regal has followed up and looks an exciting prospect. If she improves there won't be any excuses here as it is winnable and the main danger has a penalty and has to carry quite a big weight.

@PeterBu07453526 @TsuDhoNim Why couldn’t the games this week have been played at the weekend? very hard for people to make a 7pm throw in never mind 5:15 during the week
English

@TsuDhoNim Not a lot between Galway,Mayo,Roscommon having seen all three in action should be very competitive semi-final and final ahead. Disappointing the poor size crowds that turn up for these games the players in action deserve better support.

Real battle in MacHale Park for this one.
Surprising nobody, both sets of forwards caused chaos at times. Mayo grabbing momentum (& scores) early & late to win the arm wrestle.
Roscommon still well in the conversation for this year. Some serious talent.
