The VP of U.S. Soccer publicly calling out Gianni Infantino for ‘betraying’ FIFA’s values is noteworthy. So is the corresponding silence from the USSF President, CEO, COO and Board of Directors.
Nathán Goldberg Crenier@natgoldc

My personal thoughts in The @Guardian on how soccer leaders around the world have a duty to protect the sport and save FIFA from itself by opposing Infantino’s egotistical and transactional vision of the beautiful game: theguardian.com/football/2026/…

The ‘best players only come from poor economic background’ is one of the dumbest narratives in soccer.

🚨 Wanna throw up? Over 40,000 university professors are here on H-1B visas. Not 400. Not 4,000. Over 40,000. That's over 40,000 American academics who are out of a job. Roughly 72–73% of those are from India. Professor Shayoni Mitra of Barnard/Columbia University is one of these so-called "geniuses" from India. She's a professor of theater. Apparently, no American can handle this job. After the October 7 massacres by Hamas, she donned a mask and a security vest, then watched as students violently hijacked Hamilton Hall on the campus of Barnard. Students draped in keffiyehs destroyed the building in support of "Palestine." The graffiti they left behind on the walls revealed "Death to America" and support for Hamas. They held some of the maintenance workers hostage. Police were called and arrests were made. After the event, Profesor Mitra held a pretend graduation ceremony for the jihadist students who were arrested/expelled for rioting. She's attended multiple anti-Israel protests and publicly supported former students/non-citizens like Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Mahdawi, who have fomented hatred of America and Israel, rioted on campus, and spread terrorist propaganda. Our Department of Education is about to hand Columbia university over $1 BILLION in federal funding. Let me say that again: This campus is about to have over $1 BILLION American tax dollars shoved into their sweaty hands. @SpeakerJohnson @EDSecMcMahon

@makewartome @MelissaReddy_ @CBSMornings Tell us, r you in support that a politician should call + ask to reverse a call made by a ref (even if it is a crappy objectional call) to his own benefit? It's kind of like a mafia don asking a politician to change a contract away from an existing vendor 2 give it to his friend

Folarin Balogun on Donald Trump’s intervention in getting his World Cup ban suspended on @CBSMornings: “I knew it was gonna cause a lot of controversy. I could almost see within my teammates a bit of nerves… I tried to just focus as best as I could, but it was difficult with a lot of outside noise”

@MarcNYC36 @MelissaReddy_ @CBSMornings The wild thing is that you think it made a difference. It didn't. FIFA knew it was a bad call on the field. An independent inquiry was made apart from FIFA. Infantino confirmed this. Are English fans mad Starmer did the same thing for their player? No, because it doesn't matter.

@MarcNYC36 @MelissaReddy_ @CBSMornings I hope your crusade against corruption is successful and that you have that energy across the board regardless of political or national lines, but something tells me that may not be the caes.

@makewartome @MelissaReddy_ @CBSMornings A "president" of a country that is very corrupt to begin with, should *never* have called into FIFA This is sport, our fun game, no room for him to get involved one way or the other We have domestic problems galore + his war in Iran that are critical + URGENT. Not this #TACO

I joke about it but I want to be 100% clear that I think Tim Ream did everything he was asked to do and more. The dude is 38 being put up against peak of their career athletes. No one expected him to hold up even through just the group stage. He can hold his head high.

@starsnstripesfc I feel there's freedom with watching games from particular leagues with no vested interest other than joy/entertainment. Simply watch, and if a club piques your interest and draws you in, then you found your home.

Feel like I really want to get into Serie A or Bundesliga this season. I watch some of both already but mostly for #USMNT players. Might start supporting a club, any suggestions? (Not Bayern Munich)

@benno_nagel @Athelbelios The fact that people overlook this or dismiss it is unreal. In 15+ years of being involved in the youth club game I have never seen a player deserving or a spot NOT have their club find a way financially. Ever.

Pay to play isn’t the issue holding back US Soccer. Pro rate out an annual membership over a full year of 3-4 practices per week plus games. It’s not the pricing you think it is.

@KelvinLoyola We don't need to follow any other countries models. We've been chasing models since '94. We know who we are, we need to lean into that and own it. Only then will we have the respect we desire; when we respect us for being us.

That right there is the major issue. One thing is to admire France another is to follow a model that works for THEM and their cultural understanding . France is a 2 time World champion. We are more closer to Morocco or Japan. Not France in terms of soccer IQ.
Soccer Lawyer@AndrewVisnovsky

MLS literally partners with the French Football Federation to train coaches in youth development. They are literally using the "French Model." mlssoccer.com/news/elite-for…
