Sometimes it’s a lawyer’s job to get yelled at by the judge for things beyond the lawyer’s control. Just have to take it and shake it off.

You know how we always complain about senior lawyers who love to respond about how in all their years of practice, they have never seen something or this is always how it’s done? Well I just had someone tell me that in their 3 years of practice, they have never seen something lol

Me: *feels guilty printing for trial* Shows up to first day of trial. Sheriff: “ugh, lawyers are the worst tree killers I know” Me: I KNOW TY 😭

I try not to be offended by literally any encounter I have as a junior woman in law but tell me I am justified to be when a more senior lawyer responds to a basic request on a file with “never in all my years of practice have I been asked to do x,y,z”

My husband popped by to see me in chambers briefly this week. A self rep saw me talking with him over break and asked if he was my son. When I said no, my husband, they asked if he was much younger 😭 like no, I am not old enough to have a 30 yr old son nor cougar aged tysm
