MANAD is conducting a training on the MSL Dictionary website management from 5 to 9 May 2025 at the MANAD Secretariat with the aim of equipping essential website skills to support the updating of new signs on the MSLD website with Mikko Palo, an IT expert from Finland.

Malawi National Association of the Deaf (MANAD) presented 60 copies of Malawian Sign Language Dictionary to the National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) as one way of promoting Malawian Sign Language to the general public on 11 May 2023.
Malawi National Association of the Deaf attended the world hearing day commemoration at Chichiri secondary school on 2 March 2023. MANAD briefed the crowd on the importance of having the Malawian Sign Language skills for communication among the deaf and hearing communities.
MBC Director of News and Programs Madam Khonje had a meeting with one of the MANAD advocacy committee member Madam Juliana Mwase on 24 January 2023 at MBC headquarters to discuss the issues that the deaf community face in terms of media interaction.
Finnish Association of the Deaf (FAD) visitors are in Malawi on 7-day mission (22nd to 28th) to get familiar with Malawi deaf people, deaf culture and environment. Other activities include meeting MANAD staff, board members, Deaf schools, The University of Malawi on SL research.
11 parents of deaf children who form Parents of Deaf Children Group had a meeting with Finnish Association of the Deaf (FAD) visitors at MANAD secretariat on 24 January 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to share insights of deaf children’s education, communication and care.

MANAD team Sensitized parents/guardians of children suspected to have deafness and the importance of sending the children to school. The parents/ guardians received a short basic SL training and copies of the Malawian Sign Language Dictionary. A total of 46 parents were trained.
