@VincentRK I am so sorry to hear this! He was such an advocate for new testing and played an important role in bringing bright minds in the field to work together. He will be missed!

As one of the principal academic beneficiaries of Dr. Brian Durie’s mentorship, guidance, and kindness I am heartbroken to hear of his passing. His contributions to myeloma and oncology are without parallel. Charismatic, brilliant, dedicated, Dr. Durie has had a huge impact on generations of myeloma researchers worldwide. He founded the @IMFmyeloma and led it for over 30 years. He founded the International Myeloma Working Group (IMWG) and led it for over 20 years. He developed the Durie Salmon Staging System, which to this day remains as a true staging system. Helped countless patients. Educated, trained, guided countless doctors from around the world. I could go on and on. I pray for him and his family.

@michael_seok_mk We anticipate the model used for TNF inhibitors can be applied to IL23 inhibitors too. Optimal guselkumab concentrations associated with outcomes are not yet known beyond averages from trials, and having a test available will enable those studies.

@malicewi That’s such an exciting development LC-MS offers impressive precision! I’m curious, how might tracking guselkumab levels help clinicians optimize dosing schedules or predict patient responses more accurately in real-world settings.

We launched guselkumab serum concentration testing by LC-MS. This monoclonal antibody targets IL-23 and has shown promising response in inflammatory bowel disease. Fun fact- it’s an IgG lambda, not an IgG kappa like the vast majority of t-mabs. mayocliniclabs.com/test-catalog/o…
