Still alive! Tired as shit, swamped with shit to do and I've been on the tipping point of Total Burnout(tm) for weeks now, though, which is why I've been a bit AWOL recently.

Me last night: Oh, hey, the Oscars are tonight, forgot about that. Well, I don't have any skin in the movie game from last year, so I'm not gonna watch. Probably gonna be a boring one this year anyway. Me, waking up this morning:

Some of my earliest memories was of little bab!Mal imagining self-insert scenarios for the Final Fantasy games I'd watch my mom play. I was born in the cringe. *Molded* by it. The only thing that's changed is a stronger grasp of character dynamics and themes.

Fictional Characters continue to be the reason I have to specify that I'm *gray*-aroace. Real people don't do nothin' for me, but every once in a while a fictional character pops along and I'm like "if you were real I WOULD want to snuggle on a couch with you."

The game that's had me trapped in Hyperfocus Hell for the past week just got a big patch... which broke all my mods so now I gotta redownload them and start my entire save file over 30 hours in. Cool, cool cool cool

Anyway back to video game hell

I've been stuck in video game hyperfixation hell for the past three days and I only came back just to bitch about People Being Wrong About Animation. If that ain't my brain in a nutshell.

@malochroma Now now, that would require admitting you haven’t kept up with the show and only use it as shorthand because everyone’s memory is conveniently selective

Someday people are going to stop talking about RWBY's animation like Volume 1 is the only Volume that exists. The Volume 7 finale didn't fuck as hard as it did visually for people to act like "this 3D anime looks worse than RWBY" is still some kind of sick burn.

@GigawattConduit Like, I get it, I rewatched Volume 3 that one time for fic research, Poser has some severe limitations that affected the flexibility of the character models in movement. But weeb-bros looking for an easy target are out here sleeping on some DAMN good-looking 3d anime.

Like, modern RWBY actually knows how to use 2D animation techniques like squash-and-stretch and smear frames to enhance the movement of its 3D graphics in a way that a lot of its contemporaries don't, so maybe certain anime nerds should shut up about it sometimes.

Also I want all of those starters in my arms right now give them to me Game Freak I don't care if the cat becomes a fursona it will still be my friend

@GigawattConduit @VGC_News New Vegas is a classic Obsidian game in that its writing and thematic cohesion is phenomenal but the game design got suplexed by crunch, so if they are going forward with this then higher ups (whichever ones matter) definitely need to give it a "when it's done" deadline.
