Alex willingly extended with this FO group then basically had zero interest being collaborative with the second consecutive front office regime.

The Phillies fired a far more successful manager than Alex Cora in the post-Covid era yet nobody gives a shit about the Phillies. Why? Because Rob Thomson wasn’t buddy-buddy with all of sports media. Lesson? Be friends with the media and you can be as mediocre as you want.

There were some in the Red Sox organization who believed Trevor Story was past his prime and no longer capable of being an everyday impact player, per @byJulianMack. The front office was not fully convinced by his 2025 numbers. Questions were raised internally when he hit #2.
