@corvaliaa @yoshiiteru Gen ai isnt Whats consuming mass resources it’s the training of new databases, once an epoch map is trained it takes very little energy to reference its pointers, however training an epoch map takes a significant amount of energy

if it's a pose ref you found on pinterest and it happens to be ai, i don't care. those visual libraries are too cluttered nowadays to sort through it. if you gen it yourself tho, or the full ref of your chara is ai, then I'm not working with you ❌

Do you think it's wrong to use ai to show an artist a reference for something that you want to commission them and pay them for? I generally am curious of this. example- I want this type of pose but I can only find anime ai art for ref.. Is it wrong to use that as ref ??

@Kouquettish @yoshiiteru Yeah your right on that note it is still a system built on plagiarism, but the system exists, it’s to late to undo Whats already been done but we can put measures in place to prevent it going forward, there are other ways to get an idea across but each has there ups and downs

@yoshiiteru In this case ai isnt taking away from artists it’s empowering them by allowing more people to properly convey their images and ideas, feels counter productive to disregard it as a usable tool entirely simply because it’s ‘ai’

@yoshiiteru Each to there own, I see that as unfair to those without artistic talent as ai is a tool to help people convey ideas and using ai to present your idea to an actual artist shouldn’t be a problem, ai is a tool to be used, this is one of the few fair use cases for it
