ok now that it’s deleted, i just wanna say that educating someone is not the same as ridiculing them. there’s a line between correcting and just being mean, and a lot of y’all crossed it.
and yeah, the topic itself is serious. people are gonna feel strongly about zionism and everythinntied to it, that’s valid. but turning that into dogpiling and personal attacks on someone who might not even fully understand the situation? that’s not education anymore.
this doesn’t make you the bigger person either. i get that y’all r mad, i really do, but being harsh for the sake of it doesn’t prove anything and being mad at her ≠ actually solving anything. it doesn’t educate, it doesn’t move the conversation forward, it doesn’t help the people who r actually affected by the issue. it just redirects all that energy into attacking one person instead of focusing on the goal of educatjng her. if anything, it makes people more defensive and less willing to listen.
also, culture matters here. as someone who lives in thailand and been experiencinv it first hand, thai culture in general, leans a lot on politeness. i even saw a tweet saying that her reply could’ve just been her being polite rather than making a deep political statement which could be possible. not everything is coming from the same cultural lens, and assuming intent without understanding that just makes things worse.
we can call things out without humiliating someone. we can explain without tearing them apart. if the goal is actually to make people understand us, then the way we say things matters just as much as what we’re saying.
idk it just felt like it stopped being about the issue and became about who could be the harshest, and that’s kinda sad. words stick. they affect people more than you think. so yeah… just be a little more humane about it. idk if i’m making sense but inhope i do.
