Rereading Aeneid, enjoying how Virgil spends the early books pedantically ‘fixing the plot holes’ in Homer, e.g. trying to make the wooden horse more plausible, Serious Political motivations for gods, advice on avoiding the Scylla & Charybdis route. A true world-builder.

@manas_2205 @passienus Its “propaganda” is vastly oversold. There is explicit glazing of the house of Julii yes but…it *is* their story. Much more of it is an intense character study on loss, courage, what a man has where he loses everything, and the sheer cost of greatness/Rome’s founding.

A few new improvements have landed in BR. Here's a breakdown of the changes: 🌀 Storm circles now close faster in the later phases of a match. Early game pacing is unchanged, but as the match goes on, you'll have less time to rotate late. This is an active trial and we want your feedback. Does the pacing feel better? Let us know! 📦 Fewer pistols can be found generally, and Shock Rocks now drop in stack sizes of 2, with a reduced maximum stack of 4. 🛡️ Guardian Shields now drains faster at full charge, and now recharges slower. The Guardian Shield has grown to be too powerful since being reintroduced to Zero Build, so we’re pulling back its defensive power. 💥 Surgical Burst Rifles deal more damage and shoot straighter while in motion. Warforged Assault Rifles also now fire slightly faster, reload quicker, and are generally more accurate. Assault Rifles have settled into a more limited role since season launch, so we’re rebalancing them to bring them in line with other inventory options. 💥 Bank Shot Pistols drop more often, direct hits deal more damage, however ricochet shots remain unchanged. Probably the worst scene in the movie. I don’t mind Nolan twisting the events of the Odyssey to fit his vision (as countless others have done) but this made no sense for Nolan’s Odysseus. Maybe if it was framed as self-effacement it would be better but like. Why did he do this.

How did Menelaus make it back to Sparta before Odysseus? Both left Troy at the same time, yet Menelaus returned years earlier while Odysseus spent a decade struggling to reach Ithaca. Was it simply because Poseidon singled Odysseus out, or was Menelaus also making better decisions along the way? What’s the biggest reason for the difference?

@awoodustin I can totally see a scene during calypso making him remember where he goes a bit too back to the scene of the oath, would’ve made his character a lot better and helped his case of guilt too. Felt like Nolan missed this chance

This isn’t a complaint just an observation It’s interesting that Nolan chose to make his version of The Odyssey about Odysseus feeling guilty over the Trojan war but a decided (like every adaption) to not include the fact that the war was indirectly caused by him
