$ADA / $USDC liquidity issue, apparent when swapping between the two: fees are high, and multiple pools/DEXs are often needed for larger orders. Swapping 1k $ADA incurs 1.3% fees ($13 ADA). Swapping back 265 $USDC incurs 5.28+% fees (~$14 $USDC + $ADA). DEXs love it!

I just voted NO on the governance action: Cardano DeFi Liquidity Budget - Withdrawal 1 This was a very tough one for me, because I want this proposal to pass and see it's value. Rationale I am voting NO on this withdrawal. This is a difficult decision, as I recognize the immense hard work behind this proposal and the solid benefit this brings to Cardano. I previously voted YES on the governance action and I fully support the strategic intent. However, my duty of care requires strict fiscal responsibility for the security, sustainability and investments of ADA holders, especially with significant budget requests on the horizon. The proposal relies on a $0.40 ADA peg. With the current price significantly lower (~$0.286), this withdrawal is underfunded upon execution. I cannot justify this treasury spend at this moment in time, and I welcome this withdrawal's re-submission when the ADA price improves and the timing is right. The best thing that could ever happen to Cardano would be for Emurgo and the Cardano Foundation to completely liquidate their ADA. The price should crash 90% from current levels, and the people who survive would be those who genuinely care, not those who chase treasury funds. That’s how a truly decentralised system would be built.

The market across the crypto industry is extremely turbulent and impulsive. Watching ADA fall back to 2023 bear market lows this fast, is really hard to watch, but it forces a necessary moment of honesty. ADA is currently the largest faller over 90 days across the top 10. Can we actually afford the level of spending historically, and are we clear on what is genuinely needed versus what is simply nice to have.

There are three fundamental challenges that blockchain industry can solve to get us closer to better money: 1) creating a secure decentralized ledger with finite supply, 2) scalable algorithmic stablecoin, and 3) private and fair DeFi.
