@DeputyMitchell And the knock on for me as a GCSE maths teacher is that loads more will now fear / hate maths. The consequences of this - I now dread.

My son Will loves his Maths. In fact, I’d go as far as saying he thrives on solving mathematical problems.
He’s come home today upset because today’s reasoning paper was (in his words) just designed to fool you! He ended up just guessing many answers as he just wanted to get out of the hall.
He’s dreading going back in tomorrow for his next Maths SAT paper after actually really looking forward to it.
I’m interested to know what people thought of it, obviously being careful not to discuss the content.
@GillianKeegan might you be able to comment? You’ve obviously given the green light for these papers.
