fast forward to now, where i scout for references everywhere, and take my own photos to use as refs for fantasy landscapes...thank you to everyone who's stayed through different fandoms AND my development as an artist 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

when i watched yoi for the first time i genuinely couldn't draw skating, be it from anime or real, because i refused to use references properly. i laugh at it now, but i thought a "real" artist wouldnt need such a "crutch".

shout out to my friends who watched me go from yuri on ice to 7 other fandoms to then end up in real figure skating and only now have i figured out how to draw the skates...
