@EDUwithEmily Because decisions like this shouldn’t be made federally. No way that would be best for most students. Too many local things influence what the schedule should be.

Why doesn’t the country just have one set public school schedule? Teachers start and end a specific day. Students start and end a specific day. Holidays where schools are closed are established for all. Am I missing something? Why wouldn’t this work?

@VivekGRamaswamy I am a teacher and I 100% agree this will be best for education - but - there are many places and ways teachers are taken advantage of or vulnerable to being sued in unjust ways ~ is there any plan to protect and advocate for the profession in ways that ARE needed?

Abolish teachers unions & use the $$ from shutting down the Dept of Education to fund school choice so kids aren’t held captive by the zip code that they’re born into. It’s ironic that those who complain about “systemic racism” the most are the ones most hellbent on holding poor kids back.
