Often see people saying Twitter is a hellsite, and it does have its issues, but I genuinely associate this place with lovely people. Almost every interaction I have on here is pleasant, and people seem more likely to be supportive & kind than anything else. Maybe I’m just lucky.

Distinctly better 48 hours. Been to the brilliant Museum of Life in the PRL, had my first taste of Żurek, met my brother’s friend at the Palace of Culture and Science and wandered around the Old Town.

After a little advice if possible. Trying to upload data from my daughter's T-Slim pump using Glooko Uploader but it simply doesn't work. I have tried different cables (which are charging pump via the PC) & also uninstalled & installed Uploader app. Any ideas? #GBDoc #T1D

@GoldenVision90 I think it is one of the luxuries of getting older,the ability to go to bed as early as I want.

Think I’ve always seen skipping things or getting an early night or staying in as giving in to my condition, but sometimes I’m just tired. Being an adult is tiring. Think it’s okay to just be like “nope, that looks fun but I’m going to stay in and go to bed at 10pm.”

Taken 32 years but recently feel like I’m getting better at just reacting to how my body feels instead of always pushing myself to constantly be busy. Still want to go to loads of football, films, travel etc.; but I’m ready to be more sensible and measured about living with CMT.

@nickfshort It's like that at Wansee, a beautiful spot that makes it hard to imagine what decisions were made there.

So, I today visited the site of the former women's concentration camp, Ravensbrück. Rather incongruously, it's located in a lovely part of Germany, on a lake, near the town of Fürstenberg/Havel. So much misery in such a beautiful location.

@mandymcgill I know. But I suppose some don't know, some don't care, and it was a long time ago. But it wouldn't do for me.

Just a few kilometres from Ravensbrück is the former SS sanatarium at Hohenlychen. Many SS doctors trained or were stationed here, the most infamous being SS-Sturmbannführer Doctor Karl Gebhardt, who was sentenced to death for war crimes. Himmler also holed up here in early 1945.

@nickfshort How could you live there knowing what went on?

Surprisingly (to me, anyway) some of the buildings in the complex have now been turned into luxury private residences. I suppose that's better than letting them rot, though I hope there's a memorial/museum in the complex indicating its history.
