Wishing our Patron Sara Crowe the happiest of birthdays today! Sara has been with us since the beginning of the charity and always says yes when we ask her for help - she is amazing. Thank you Sara for all your support and for being such an important part of Mane Chance.

What are our Shetlands like?! They decided to have a silly five minutes running around the Shetland area. All except Dolly in her spotty rug who obviously didn't get the memo! (She is over 30 years old, so you can't really blame her...) It's so joyful to see them just having fun!

We shred office paper waste for chicken bedding (removing staples!!) to keep our rescued hens snug and warm. We have water butts across the site to collect water and we recycle our used ink cartridges to raise money too.

It's Global Recycling Day today! Did you know... All the horse poo that we collect each morning is left to rot down thoroughly and is then spread back on our resting grazing areas to promote new grass growth, plus it's great for our raised beds too.

Ziggy was found galloping down Cranleigh High Street, having been abandoned nearby! All three had suffered in very different ways and all desperately needed help - we are so proud that they came to us and have been part of our family ever since.

Unbelievably, it was on this day 14 years ago that Gwen and Phyllis arrived at Mane Chance, and 10 years ago today that Ziggy arrived. Gwen and Phyllis were both carrying foals when rescued, so we got extra gifts when Blueboy and Bobbie were born shortly afterwards! 1/2
