Can’t even names all the players he took Newton and Sinnott over who have been much better. Just saying AP drafts suck so far.

@CCrazy5150 @wshingtontoday Only reason to release him is if we can get a better DT for less than $16M. Keeping Payne and letting him leave by after this season probably also gets us a comp pick, which won’t happen if we cut him.

@wshingtontoday Daron is going to play out his deal and move on after next season.

We have $68M cap space. Will almost surely cut Marshon Lattimore and gain $18M Daron Payne staying at the $28M cap would be malpractice. They need to fix that. A Tunsil deal could actually give the team more cap to work with this year. No reason why this team shouldn’t go into free agency with over $100M in cap space.

@Bharistocrat @wshingtontoday Total agree, people keep saying it will save $17M, but not one is saying it will create another hole on Defense, which will cost to replace.

@wshingtontoday Cutting Payne would only free up $16M. Cutting him only makes sense if they can find a better DT for less than $16M and i don’t think they can. Any sort of restructure would just limit us in 2027. Not ideal, but keeping him at his current contract is the smartest move.
