Exactly, I keep seeing “the government is taking land for data centers” actually the private owners of the land sold the land to the people wanting to build the data centers. The government just approved it. If you have a problem with the land being used rightfully by the owners of the land then take it up with the people who sold it to them. It wasn’t the government.

@RichardHanania They're also pretty f-ing dumb at being progressive too. You could potentially tax the revenue each autonomous truck produces and then use that money to fund re-skilling/social safety nets to affected workers.

It's fine to do this for PR purposes I guess, but it's sad how the only way you can defend progress is if it would saves lives. Self-driving cars are such a productivity improvement that they would be worth supporting even if they cost lives. But this is how democracy works.
