This is one of the many pictures showing the #wildfires affecting #Sicily right now, and it has been taken very close to my apartment. There are no words to describe how we all feel. The #ClimateCrisis is scaring enough, we don't need criminals on the top of it.

@aaaaaanula etal compare PALM-UP in DGS signers and German co-speech gesture. Signers tend to use PALM UP at start/end of narrative or to search information. Gestures tend to use it to present new info. Both groups have same production rates (PU/100 words-signs) #MMSYM2023

@mamus_ezgi If our conceptual representations develop from sensory experiences then blind & sighted ppl may have diff representations. Using elicited silent gesture Blind ppl produce fewer gestures for non-manipulable & animals (but not for manipulable objects). #MMSYM2023

now at @UofG_MOSAIC talk: @ozyurek_a about the necessity of revising current models of language still based on speech only. Even if a lot has been done in the last decades we are still far from a view actually taking multimodality into account. More work to do!

One month ago I arrived at the @Multimodallang and I never imagined that so much work would be done by now (even the sign at the Door has changed!). Working again with @ozyurek_a & @anitaslonimska has been super stimulating and fun. Thank you all for having me!
