This feels like Ronaldo all over again.
Florentino Pérez refused to give him the contract he felt he deserved, so he walked to Juventus for €30m+ a year. Elite numbers that season still weren’t enough, he felt undervalued.
Now it’s Vinícius Júnior’s turn. Still only 26 and consistently delivering 30+ goal contributions a season, yet the contract talks have stalled. Reports say he wants around £500k a week after tax.
Arsenal are monitoring closely.
If they somehow pull this off, Vini + Gyökeres + Saka would be an absolute attack for every defence next season.

Antonio Silva is exactly why I’ve been against Manchester United paying huge fees based purely on potential. Two years ago, Benfica wanted around €90m for António Silva when United were heavily linked. Today, Bournemouth are signing him for roughly €21.4m plus a potential €4.3 add-ons. That’s football. Potential doesn’t always become elite production. Players like Eliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes with those overpriced valuations can turn out like Antonio Silva in two years’ time. This is why I keep saying INEOS must stop buying hype and start buying proven profiles that fit Carrick’s system. The “Manchester United tax” is only real if you’re willing to keep paying it.

I think United will try and sign Tchouameni but will offer a fee way below his valuation knowing that Madrid won’t accept and then INEOS will spin it with the usual bullshit that there’s no value in the market and they’ll end up going back in for Ederson as a panic buy 👍
