Jackson tried to trap him with an emotional hospital-birth scenario involving illegal migrants. JACKSON: “Are we bringing pregnant women in for depositions?!” SAUER: “No. The executive order depends on lawful status. If a baby is born, a birth certificate is issued, and the system checks immigration status through existing databases.” Jackson then pushed again, asking whether parents would get a chance to prove they intended to stay in the U.S. Sauer shut that down too. He said the exact opposite is true: if someone believes they were wrongly denied, there are ways to challenge it, but those cases would be rare. When Jackson asked if that challenge only comes after a baby is denied citizenship, Sauer made it crystal clear: The system already verifies the parents’ status automatically, using robust databases, and for the overwhelming majority of parents, the process would look no different than it does now. Of those lost, the first man to die in Vietnam was James Davis, in 1961. He was with the 509th Radio Research Station. The Davis Station in Saigon was named for him. Five men killed in Vietnam were only 16 years old. The oldest man killed was 62 years old. 58,148 were killed in Vietnam, 75,000 severely disabled, 23,214 were 100% disabled, 5,283 lost limbs and 1,081 sustained multiple amputations.
