i’m a good ways into shadow punisher and meng rui and li si have not shared any pagespace at all, it just alternates between their individual cases so far. so i think the biggest thing that’s going to be changed in the adaptation is getting them in the same room a lot sooner

Honestly I don't think I could name 3 *living* Chinese (in Chyna, not diaspora or Hong Kong) people either. Lots of historical figures, but indeed I can't name one big actor, writer or musician. Over a billion people & world's no.1 economy but the cultural gap here remains total.

This is genuinely incredible and says SO SO MUCH about the perception of China in the West. This is the #1 news show in France, and the host - David Pujadas - asks the pundits around the table (a sample of the top media figures in France) if they can name 3 living Chinese people. That's it: they just need to say the names of 3 living Chinese people, anyone. This should be extremely easy. Yet not of a single one of them can name a single Chinese beyond Xi Jinping. They do not know a single living Chinese person beyond the president. That's the level of ignorance of China we're dealing with in the West today, in 2026. @mangh_oe @duhshaun_ none of those points are things exclusive to pasta except maybe the semolina one. so they’re noodles made using local grains which is true of all noodles! it’s a diverse class of foods. it’s ok for pasta to be part of a global culinary tradition.

@mangh_oe @duhshaun_ noodles is an umbrella term which describes both. “noodles” is an english word with german origins. it does not specifically describe asian varieties of noodle. i don’t really care what anyone calls pasta but pasta is definitionally a type of noodle.
