@marc01217 canada still doesnt have anybody that would be an obvious choice from the nhl for goalies in international play. usa has 3 where any of them could be starters. if they already passed Canada there we could easily get caught in other positions. when looking at olympics, its close

@averyspacehall Yeah I’m pretty sure Canada have some NHL talent too. The only difference with the USA is that they actually are playing in the NHL right now and have a significant impact already. Add Bedard, Fantili, Wright, Benson and Korchinski and I’m pretty sure we have a different result

@marc01217 ill ask you the same question i asked someone else. USA powering through this tournament, they have plenty of NHL talent as well. Are you not seeing what theyve accomplished in the last decade, how much ground they have made up on Canada?

takeaway from team canada: -canada needs a national development program. every country here is catching us in talent, but they play far more organized. they arent just allstar teams thrown together for a 2 week allstar tournament.

USA basketball was struggling with the same thing. Loads of talent but could not come together for the Olympics. there was a whole documentary on it. Canada needs a NTDP.
