I have personally studied Greek mythology extensively for many years. I have read so much about it that I am familiar with virtually every character from ancient Greek civilization. I know, according to Greek mythology, how the Titans were born from the union of Gaia and Uranus, the war between the Titans and the Olympians known as the Titanomachy, the Trojan War, and countless stories involving Olympian gods, creatures, monsters, kings, adventures, and mythological battles. I love Greek mythology so much that for the last 28 years I have continuously read about it from authentic sources, and I still do. I enjoy learning about every single character in Greek mythology. The Odyssey movie, directed by Christopher Nolan, is the worst adaptation I have ever seen. I did not expect such direction from Christopher Nolan. There are virtually no Greek gods in the film, and almost no Greek creatures either—only two creatures are shown, and even they are not portrayed realistically. However, in the original Odyssey, Odysseus spent seven years on an island where he forgot his past and even forgot about returning home after consuming the lotus flower. The woman with whom he spent those seven years was herself a goddess named Calypso. Later, Calypso allowed Odysseus to leave her island and return home at the request of Zeus, king of the Olympian gods. These events are central to the original narrative, yet they were not properly depicted in the movie. Furthermore, the story taken from Homer's original Odyssey was not presented accurately. The Greek poet Homer wrote two great epics: the Iliad and the Odyssey. The Iliad covers the events of the Trojan War and its conclusion, while the Odyssey tells the story of the long sea journey home after the Trojan War. Those who are calling Odyssey a great movie should first check the complete historical background of Homer's original Odyssey on YouTube. Then they will understand what the actual epic was like and what Christopher Nolan has created instead. Another example is the cave sequence. In the movie, only a single Cyclops—the one-eyed giant—is shown. In the original epic, there was one Cyclops inside the cave, but hundreds more outside. When Odysseus and his companions blinded the Cyclops and attempted to escape, they tied themselves beneath sheep and carefully made their way out. Moreover, the Cyclopes were said to be the sons of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. None of these important details were properly shown. There are many more significant events and characters in the original work. In my opinion, the movie uses only about 5% of the original Odyssey as inspiration. If I were to explain all the differences, it would take all night. Christopher Nolan has completely distorted the original Odyssey. My personal rating would be 3.5 out of 10. I am extremely disappointed after watching this movie. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮😡

Je sors de l’odyssée et ma seule critique sera dirigée vers ce connard devant moi qui a passé la moitié du film sur son téléphone à scroller et à zoomer sur des photos de nanas sur Instagram Mais sinon super film
