Do you know that in John’s day, when Revelation was written, Rome was famously known as the city on seven hills or seven mountains? That is one reason Revelation used it as a symbol because seven mountains has long been connected to Rome. When he described the false church aka the Antichrist as sitting on seven mountains, his readers knew he was talking about Rome.
