#ChatGPT & #journalism “There are judgements you must be human to make. There is no dodging that fundamentally human role — that of the narrator. Whether explicitly or not, you have to take on the responsibility of guiding your readers through the landscape ..you are reporting.”

Excellent piece by @MargaretSimons about what ChatGPT might mean for journalism, and journalists. Where’s Melbourne’s best coffee, ChatGPT?, on Inside Story inside.org.au/melbournes-bes…

One of the best, most considered and most practical articles on #ChatGPT and #highered #assessment - @jasonmlodge is right authenticity in assessment is key and this isn’t just about the work-readiness of the task it’s about explicating the processes of decision making/judgement

@Anda19 I'm afraid everyone is going to get more hysterical and won't see the opportunity to reinvent assessment.... but I think jumping on the fear carousel has become an instinctive reaction because HE and our world is so pressured. We're afraid. Just afraid.

Academics "riding their fear carousel"(@Anda19) can't think about innovative ways to use #ChatGTP. So I asked ChatGTP: "If AI is part of future professional workflows how can academics get students to use it ethically as part of an assessment" Their reply: #highered #assessment
