1) Build 1 extension (RLE)
2) Enhance/clean etc every station
3) Catch up on deferred maintenance to remove slow zones

@marcusrox17 @ModerateIndy We don’t have infinite transit resource (sadly) and the cost/benefit of the RLE is remarkably lopsided—incredibly expensive to serve low demand.

@lacherbauer @ModerateIndy Yeah but we can ask for DOPD and CHA to lighten some of their RIDICULOUS housing policies so we can build more. Also, the RLE plan includes an estimated 800-1000 unites built at like 3 of the new stations

@marcusrox17 @ModerateIndy We have “cornfields” (hundreds of empty lots) half that distance from the Loop around the existing Green Line, that should be filled in and developed before thinking of using transit to activate property in the furthest parts of the city.

@ModerateIndy The cost for every US transit project is absolutely absurd, 2nd Ave subway and RLE especially.
It especially sucks cuz the high price tag came after CTA didn’t calculate all the costs.
but the MTAs 7 train literally went to corn fields when it was first built.
