Important piece by Georgie Yukiko Donovan @GeorgieInMotion on the lastest TV industry data on diversity. "British East &Southeast Asian (BESEA) creatives remain almost entirely absent from the UK television landscape... And somehow, no one seems alarmed." broadcastnow.co.uk/comment/this-i…

Powerful speech by @LennyHenry on the global attack on EDI. In 2020 you couldn’t leave your house without tripping over someone claiming to be an “ally” in the fight against racism. In 2025 Lenny asks for the same allies to stand up when it counts! lnkd.in/eDJfXf5k

It is good to be quoted in @nytimes about the proposed US tariffs on UK and foreign films. The importance of @FilmTVCharity to support people in the industry experiencing financial and mental distress is paramount in these unsettling times. nytimes.com/2025/05/08/bus…

@PhilipRalph9 Thank you. It is something I struggle with. It supercharges the phrase “You are only as good as your last job” to “you are only as good as your last (weekly/daily) public achievement”. (The former can still be toxic).

This is a superb piece highlighting the all consuming danger, especially to those in film & TV, of ascribing our worth and value only to performative success and ‘conspicuous achievement’. We need to change how we talk about a sustainable career with all its highs and lows.

New blog: “'Conspicuous Achievement' & its Toll on Young People in Film & TV" No longer is it enough just to be good at work we need at least '2 thumbs up' on social media for it have any value. The impact on our mental health is terrible. linkedin.com/pulse/conspicu… via @LinkedIn

Too often I hear senior TV & film execs in private describe younger workers "lacking resilience" & being "snowflakes". At the same time I hear Gen-Z workers mock the older generation's understanding of wellbeing. Here is how they are both right. New blog.. lightscamerabreathe.wordpress.com/2025/03/25/bri…
