Sawyer Road wrapped up Black History Month on a high note with an exciting indoor parade! Families joined students as they showcased everything they’ve learned about the history that shapes us all. Thank you for celebrating with us, Marietta!

Park Street’s two-day Black History Month celebrations were packed with culture and community! Students shined in poetry, music, and a Reading Bowl—topped off by a visit from The Divine Nine, historically Black Greek-letter collegiate organizations!

Our Lockheed Jets brought Black History to life today with a Wax Museum of trailblazers from the past and present. Not only did they look the part, but they also shared inspiring history lessons and details about each person they represented.

Though Delk is no longer with us, her legacy continues through community leaders like Mrs. Pearl Freeman, who help our students understand how the past has shaped today—and inspires them to shape tomorrow.

MCAA celebrated Black History Month by honoring Marietta’s own history. Students were introduced to Daphne Delk’s powerful story. In 1964, Delk integrated Marietta High School after attending the all-Black Lemon Street High her freshman year. #Thread
