As an Iranian who stayed connected through Starlink during the total internet blackout, I want to wholeheartedly confirm what President Trump just said:
"The Iranian people want to be free. They have lived in a world that you know NOTHING about."
For 47 years, my people have endured systematic torture, rape, murder, humiliation, anxiety, suppression, and grief under the Islamic Republic. It’s been a long, grinding suffering — punctuated by brutal spikes like the January protests, mass executions, and now war. The world has no idea of the scale or depth of these horrors. Only when this evil regime finally falls will the full truth pour out — in quality and quantity that will shock humanity.
We have now reached a point where almost no cost is too great if it rids us of this regime. Because the cost of it staying in power is infinitely higher.
If you’re reading this and you can’t understand how any Iranian could feel relief at their own country losing a war and getting bombed… I envy you. You have never lived what we have lived. You have never watched your people, friends, family, and loved ones get tortured, raped, or killed almost daily and over half a century. You have never seen an entire nation slowly but brutally suffocated like this.
We tried every alternative imaginable: massive protests, dissent, peaceful reform, negotiations — everything. None of it worked. The regime’s answer has always been bullets, gallows, and more terror.
Now, less than 24 hours before Trump’s deadline, I write this with a heavy heart from inside Iran:
Whatever happens next — if there is still an Iran left to save and this regime is gone — the Iranian people will be happy with the result. No matter the cost. Because the cost of the regime remaining is higher, and for many of us, death itself is preferable to another day under this nightmare.
This is the true sentiment of the majority of Iranians — the voice of a people who often have no internet, no platform, and no way to be heard.
The world will soon understand why we say:
Anything to be free. Anything to end this evil.

@moizali @rickyhewitt_dev I found this today. Kind of turns your phone into a touch bar. Plan on trying it out in the morning.

@rickyhewitt_dev Brother touchbar requires a new laptop. You are basically missing an entire row of keys!

@theisabelb And just so you know, if your kids are already in these classes, there is no amount of evidence you can show them to argue otherwise.
If a teacher says it, they believe it.
Even if your own education & experience out rank the teacher.
We need to fix this or pull our kids out

Teenagers are sharing photos of their AP U.S. Government textbooks, and the sheer amount of indoctrination is wildly disturbing.
Apparently, Barack Obama is ideologically a right wing authoritarian.
Hillary Clinton and George W Bush are entirely indistinguishable politically.
Donald Trump is of course virtually the same as Hitler.
@tedcruz is apparently more radically authoritarian than Fidel Castro AND Joseph Stalin..??!!??
@Linda_McMahon — can we expedite some major changes to American public education?

@mattvanswol I was supposed to go there with my wife’s family on Wednesday last week while on vacation, but plans changed quickly and my wife, kids, and I decided to go to Cades Cove instead. Someday we will get out there to see it.

@SirBylHolte I’ve been looking forward to this Supergirl movie. Loved the new Superman movie as well. Gunn’s DC is looking pretty awesome so far.
English

Lily Alcock is pre-blaming the inevitable failure of "Supergirl" on “simply existing as a woman in that (superhero) space.”
Here’s the thing:
Way back in 2017, DC also gave us Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman."
She was beautiful, brave, strong, and an actual hero.
She wasn't DEPRESSED.
She was happy.
She fell in love with a man and he with her.
That's the story of MOST GIRLS AND WOMEN.
Nobody complained that she was a woman.
Nobody called her “problematic” for being feminine or attractive.
The movie made over $800 million worldwide.
Men bought tickets in droves.
Women did too.
So spare me the excuses, lady.
If your movie flops, it won’t be because men “own women’s bodies.”
It’ll be because it’s probably shit — just like most of the recent girlboss flops.
Wonder Woman proved that audiences have zero problem with strong female leads.
We just have a problem with unlikeable, preachy, or poorly written ones.

@mattvanswol @PredsNHL “Ohhhh stooop it, Matt” - in a gay voice 😆

@cryptopunk7213 I’d love for them to let us plug into xAI. @Grok is my main tool for anything AI related.

lmfao fucking genius move by Apple.
Siri now becomes the #1 AI model without ever running its own model or spending a dollar on training 😂
let me explain:
- Claude, chatgpt, gemini can now plug into Siri’s 2.5 billion users
- so Siri becomes the default interface for AI chatbots = gets ALL the credit
- Apple will likely tax 30% of all chatgpt, claude subs via appstore = more $$$$$
- Apple becomes the distribution layer for everyone else’s AI. taxes the app layer
- oh and apple STILL HAS ACCESS to gemini’s model weights to build their own fucking foundation model 😂
silver lining for anthropic: they’ve been behind in consumer users - now apple gives them access to 2.5B of them 👍🏽👍🏽
the AI economy will run on ios and apple and they barely lifted a finger to do it

BREAKING: Apple is planning to open up Siri to run any AI service via their App Store apps as part of iOS 27, dropping ChatGPT as the exclusive outside partner in Apple Intelligence and Siri. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@HistoryBoutique @RubinReport I actually loved this show. There was definitely some woke stuff that drove me nuts.

@RubinReport I am a Star Trek freak!
I was not able to get past the trailer.
TNG will always be the best.

@mattvanswol @BarackObama It was your bill that made those of us that couldn’t afford insurance have to pay fines (tax penalty).
English

What the actual hell are you talking about????!!!
You promised families would save $2,500 a year on premiums.
Individual market premiums increased 105% in just the first four years.
Over the life of your law, premiums are up over 220%
"If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."
You said that over and over.
You knew it wasn't true. And when 7 million people had their plans canceled, you just... moved on. No accountability.
And the fraud.
Let's talk about the fraud.
6.4 million Americans were improperly enrolled in enhanced tax credits...
...costing taxpayers $27 BILLION!!!!!
Another 1.6 million were simultaneously collecting both Medicaid AND ACA subsidies!!!!
You didn't make healthcare affordable.
You made lying about healthcare affordability look easy.
And apparently that's still free...
English

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time.
The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more.
But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.
