@resolutehrje People matter more than structures. A structure that has three different types of member is confusing to the electorate and sub-optimal. However, we cannot change the structure for each election. My priority would be to make the current system work better.

@markboleat Do you fell the current Assembly structure needs to change? How many politicians do you think we need?

We need to improve the way that the political system works - collaborative working, making decisions based on evidence instead of assumptions, and listening to the people of Jersey. This election is important. See my website: markboleat.je

Today, I’d like to share my thoughts on some topics and issues that affect the citizens of Jersey daily. Watch this to hear my stance on dogs on beaches, the housing legislation and low-cost supermarkets. As I say at the end, the objective is to serve the people of Jersey.

I made that point at the hustings. The States members unanimously approved the roadmap but then did nothing to implement it - policy making at it worst. In practice it has already been scrapped; this needs to be formalised.
Barry Le Maistre@LeMaistre1965

This evening in St Clement, I think all the senatorial candidates dismissed the @climatejsy Carbon Neutral Roadmap as unrealistic, unachievable, and unaffordable. It is vital that this policy position is reflected in the new Government, and that the roadmap is scrapped.

The electorate of Jersey has spoken! I do not regret having a go. I learned a great deal about current issues in Jersey and would have liked to play my part in tackling them. But it was not to be. Best wishes to those elected and thanks to everyone who stood.

The loss of the island-wide mandate has not gone down well. The Jersey Alliance is committed to a review of the arrangements with a comprehensive consultation. It should be for the people of Jersey to decide the electoral system, not just the members of the States Assembly.
