@chiayitay As it turns out, having (lots of) money is a good thing.

Coffee with fellow passionate people reminded me that we are blessed to have life partners who can rein us in a little so we don’t go around spending every penny we have on passion projects 😮‍💨😌✨

#NewProfilePic for another year older 🎈 Blessed to be surrounded by people who: - celebrates my success - embraces my mistakes - holds spaces for me to grief and grow May I never forget to have clean hands, a pure heart, and grace to love imperfections.

I'm normally not a fan of Chinese New Year but I have to say that this year's celebrations were enjoyable and warmed the heart. Something to do with the closeness of family, shared happiness, and a growing understanding of what makes each person happy.

Always fun to meet a fellow Malaysian diaspora at events. Chatted with someone working in DC and found out he is Malaysian after he asked me about nasi lemak recommendations!

Food for thought from Henry Shukman - what work are you doing that you’re less obsessed with the outcomes?

@peppermin5 I would certainly feel so, if I were the person on the other side of the table.

@markcheongwl In the final analysis, actually that's all that matters most to another person 🙏🩷

Seeing friends in centres with: - fixed schedules - no sudden urgent referrals - zero ghosting by doctors whilst asking for updates - regular lunch/break time - holidays without stressing to passover cases Makes me wonder whether this “12k steps minimum” job is good for me 😮‍💨

I know this is me ranting on an exhausting day because i’d probably be like: Omg hospital life best life ✨ …on less taxing days.

@yoongkhean @chiayitay Hear hear - and there’s also work to ensure that there is proper representation of voices among the public/patients, instead of overreliance on a specific few individuals who come from a narrow demographic.

@markcheongwl @chiayitay It's all still a big power gap to close. But I also think you need to be a bit politically savvy to work in patient engagement.

1st paper of 2026! In this study, we challenged the "build it and they will come" belief. Building health services does not guarantee adoption by community members and may lead to rejection. Trust and co-development are essential components for success. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/26…

@chiayitay …but also because there is this aversion to having to go back to the drawing board or having one’s assumptions challenged. The current approach is very much “us vs them” instead of “we built this together”.
