Over 144,000 exposed to rate increases of up to 2%, +€220 a month to average mortgage. With many mistakingly assuming lower ECB = lower mortgage rates, switching has slumped. More needs to be done to highlight the risks facing these mortgage holders. independent.ie/irish-news/ten…

The average mortgage rate relief in the budget is €400 each versus €2,000 in interest for 37,000 mortgage prisoners and over 120,000 others. The government could have wiped out the increase for prisoners, buying them much needed time. irishtimes.com/your-money/202…

@bunq Saving at 1.56% instead of the usual overnight rate in Ireland of less than 0.2% will make a big difference for those looking to put together a deposit. Ireland's a gerat place to live, but houses are expensive!
